St. Joseph's Catholic College

A Welcome from the Executive Principal

Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic College. When speaking to prospective parents I usually start with the question what do we want for our children? Our answer in St Joseph’s is that we want them to be happy and we want them to achieve to their full potential. Our aim is to provide a caring and supportive environment in which each individual can progress academically, spiritually and culturally.

Haircuts

The recent fashion for extremely short ‘back and sides’ haircuts has led to some students failing to comply with the College uniform policy. This states that hair should not be excessively short. The College accepts grade one cuts, but any shorter than this and the haircut will fail to comply with the uniform policy.

The few students who have got their hair cut to a length below grade one have subsequently lost their social times until it has grown back to an acceptable length.  These students have been disappointed with this outcome; however, we are relentless in maintaining the College’s high standards.

Please be mindful of the College’s uniform policy when you take your child to have a haircut and ensure that the hairdresser follows your request.

Readathon

Congratulations to Year 8 who have read for Readathon and raised £746 for good causes. Thank you to all who sponsored them and encouraged them to read widely for charity. Prizes will be given to those who raised over £80 at a forthcoming Celebration assembly. It was also great to receive £150 to top up our ILC stock for participating in this event.
